082114-600-uefa-champions-league-trophy

The Gunners take a trip to the French capital to take on the Ligue Un heavyweights in their first match of the new European campaign.

Arsene Wenger was able to rest some of his big name players for the match against Southampton.

And he’s expected to field a strong line-up for the match at the Parc des Princes.

Laurent Koscielny faces a race to be fit after hurting his eye against the Saints and the inexperienced Rob Holding may have to deputise if he can’t play.

Laurent Blanc’s failure to convert PSG’sdominance of Ligue 1 into Champions Leagueglory cost the coach his job at Parc des Princes at the end of last season, but the club’s wealthy backers have made their intentions clear by hiring former Sevilla boss Unai Emery.

Emery has marked himself out as a knockout specialist after winning the previous two Europa League titles in Seville, and though PSG have picked up just seven points from their opening four league games this term after Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s departure to Manchester United, the French champions still boast one of the best squads in the Champions League this season.

Venue And Time

Arsenal face PSG at the Parcs des Princes on Tuesday, September 13. Kick-off is at 7:45PM Nigerian Time

Arrested Major Boko Haram Recruiter Handed Over to Army

A suspected major recruiter for the Boko Haram arrested on Tuesday last week has been handed over to the army for further investigation, said an official source in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State.

The commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Borno, Ibrahim Abdullahi, said yesterday that the suspect had confessed to be a suppliers of arms and IEDs to Boko Haram insurgents before he was finally handed over to the military for further investigation.

The suspect, who pretended to be a hunter, confessed to be recruiting young boys for the Boko Haram sect, by promising them job offer, said the commandant.

“He went about telling the youths that he could help them get jobs that will pay very well in a community where there is no such opportunity at the moment. That was how his cover was blown.”
The defence corps later got a tip off and arrested him at Mussa Village in Askira Uba Local Council area of Borno State.

According to the suspect’s statement obtained by NSCDC, three of his biological children are also “arrow heads” of the sect.
